Using holiday leftover turkey to make a delicious homemade soup to warm you on a cool fall day

  • 8 cups turkey bone broth
  • 1 1/2 cups carrots sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups leek sliced (include some green)
  • 1 tbsp turmeric
  • 1 cup cooked turkey
  • 3/4 cup wild & brown rice blend uncooked


  • Heat turkey bone broth thoroughly then add carrots, leek, and turmeric.
  • Simmer for 1 hour.
  • Add rice and turkey, continue to cook for 40 min, until rice is cooked through.
  • Serve immediately


If you do not have turkey bones to prepare your own turkey bone broth you can alternatively use Chicken Broth as the base of this soup.  If using boxed chicken broth I would also suggest to add a cube of chicken bouillon to add more flavour to your soup base.
